Delphis Group is an Athens-based company specializing in building air-conditioning systems. Their headquarters, designed by Yiannis Ditsas, is a three-storey building with three basements. It consists of a steel-and-glass cube placed on a concrete base, with the steel structure descending into the ground to create a bright, inhabitable first basement.
I contributed to the frame concept and worked as the CAD designer for the project. At the time, using a steel frame for a high-profile office building in Athens was unusual, chosen both for its technological character and for the speed it offered in construction. The entire building — from excavation to operation — was completed in a record four months, coordinated directly by the company’s owner.
