KP Bed is a small furniture-design exercise combining modern 3D software with 2D CNC fabrication. The final form was developed through 3D modelling, based on an initial sketch by my close friend Katerina Pylava, yoga teacher and architect. CNC cutting was carried out in Tasos Papaioannou’s workshop in Markopoulo, while I completed the assembly and construction at the Pavlos & Pavlos lab in Kallithea. The bed is designed for easy transport, disassembling into five pieces.
This project reflects a personal principle: as an architect, I value building things with my own hands to stay connected to the physical reality of construction. Designers need to step away from the computer occasionally and engage directly with real materials.
