Residence in Rafina is the second steel-frame luxury home by architect Yiannis Ditsas and the one he considers his masterwork. The house has two stories and a basement, with the living room placed at the top to capture open views of the Aegean Sea. The exterior shell is built in stone, and the balconies are also solid stone, 6–9 cm thick, cantilevered without a structural slab. The steel frame remains partially exposed both inside and outside, forming the final architectural character.
My involvement included preparing the 2D CAD drawings as a junior architect and coordinating subcontractors. Together with Alexis Kloukinas, I was responsible for the construction site. By setting up an on-site office with a PC and printer, this project became my first introduction to precision construction guided by digital models, even though the tools at the time were purely 2D.
