Residency in Rafina is the second of the architect Yiannis Ditsas steel frame luxury residency and the one that the architect himself considers his masterpiece. It consists of two stories and one basement. The living room is located at the top to take advantage of the great views of the Aegean Sea. The outer shell of the building is made of stone and the balconies are also made of stone 6 to 9cm thick with no structural slab to support them. A feast of architectural detail, having the steel elements of the frame partially visible externally and partially visible internally to form the final aesthetic result.
My involvement in the project was in the making of 2d cad drawings, as a junior architect and in the subcontractors’ coordination. With the help of Alexis Kloukinas, I was responsible for the construction site; having installed a “construction site office” with a pc & printer, this project was for me an introduction to “computer model” precision constructions even though we were using 2d design.
